Finding the words to explain the impact made by Walmart through the Feeding America partnership isn’t easy.
I can tell you that in 2009, Walmart donated more than 100 million pounds of food to Feeding America.
I can tell you that the 35 brand new trucks donated to food banks in 24 states across the country will have the capacity to bring an addition 52.5 million pounds of food into the Feeding America network.
And I can tell you that some food banks in Feeding America’s network pick up food from almost 20 Walmart locations up to three times every week.
With 49 million Americans struggling with hunger, Walmart’s efforts are vital to our network of food banks.
Thanks to Feeding America’s committed corporate partners like Walmart, we are making headway in the fight against hunger. However, there is still a long way to go.
At Feeding America we always say that no American should go hungry. We are so lucky to have Walmart as our partner in spreading that belief.
